Here they are - back with you again!

Kukla, Fran and Ollie, and all the Kuklapolitan Players, along with their creator, the great Burr Tillstrom.  I hope this site will help in some small way to keep Burr's work alive, and perhaps even find some new fans for the best puppet show ever on television.

The sentiments above, drafted decades ago by founder Mark Milano, are now more meaningful than ever. Mark's longtime passion has helped keep Burr's work alive in a big way!

As you may know, my brother Mark passed away on January 3, 2026. In the months since, my family and I have been committed to ensuring that the work to which Mark devoted so much passion and care would continue beyond his lifetime. I am pleased to share that, after considerable effort and planning, we have established a path forward to preserve and continue Mark's legacy.

We are working with Your Next Chapter (YNC), a 501c3 not-for-profit organization that exists to preserve and share historical content that is at risk. While Mark's passion, love, and knowledge of all things related to the Kuklapolitans cannot be cloned, YNC will step in and ensure that as much (hopefully all) of his work is sustained. You can help.

Just as Mark needed, sought, and secured funding to do his work, YNC needs financial assistance as well. It is important for me to note that the YNC "staff" is and has been all volunteer for many years. They, like Mark, are driven by their desire to save the work of passionate founder's.

CBS Children's Film Festival, their original series (1947 - 57), was actually watched by more adults than children.  This first show counted Orson Welles, John Steinbeck, Tallulah Bankhead and Adlai Stevenson among its many adult fans, and had sponsors like Life magazine and Ford Motor Co., who surely weren't trying to reach children.  How did this happen?  Click here to find out!

Scroll down to check out the sound & video clips, magazine articles, fan letters and photos I've gathered, and you'll see why James Thurber once wrote that Burr was "helping to save the sanity of the nation and to improve, if not even to invent, the quality of television."

I f you're looking for the answer to a question, first check our Frequently Asked Questions, then use the search tool below, or send me an email.  And before you go, please take a moment to sign the guestbook - I'd like to gather as many memories of the show as I can, so leave your thoughts about Kukla, Ollie, Madame Ooglepuss, Buelah Witch, Fletcher Rabbit, Cecil Bill or the other Kuklapolitans.   I'm always adding to the site, so check back for updates, take a look at the site map, or enter your email address below to find out when I've added something:
